Overview
We are seeking a Senior Javascript Engineer on a contract basis to join a dynamic and rapidly expanding digital business. This role will involve working closely with product, engineering, and platform teams to deliver scalable backend solutions using Node.js and TypeScript. The contractor will leverage their extensive experience and collaborative skills to contribute to architectural decisions and mentor other engineers in a hybrid working environment.
Responsibilities
- Build and evolve high-scale backend services with Node.js and TypeScript.
- Design clean, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
- Collaborate effectively with Product, Engineering, and Platform teams.
- Contribute to architecture and technical decision-making processes.
- Write high-quality, well-tested code following best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
Requirements
- 10+ years of commercial software engineering experience.
- Strong expertise in Node.js and TypeScript.
- Experience in building distributed, cloud-native applications.
- Familiarity with multiple programming languages such as Java, Go, Python, C#, or Kotlin.
- Deep understanding of APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience working in modern Agile product teams.
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
