Overview
We are seeking a Senior Applied AI Engineer to join our dynamic team as a contractor, focusing on building advanced AI systems for critical environments. In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy multi-agent AI systems from conception to production, working closely with a team of engineers who share a commitment to delivering reliable and impactful solutions. Your expertise will ensure the systems we create earn the confidence of stakeholders in high-stakes scenarios, where accuracy is paramount.
Responsibilities
- Design and build multi-agent AI systems from the ground up.
- Write clean, tested, maintainable production-grade code.
- Integrate large language and vision-language models into reasoning and task-execution pipelines.
- Deploy AI systems across cloud, on-premises, and fully offline environments.
- Own production pipelines from data ingestion through to inference.
- Build evaluation and observability frameworks to monitor system behavior and performance.
- Set technical design standards and provide guidance to other engineers.
Requirements
- Significant professional software engineering experience (typically 6+ years) in building LLM-based or agentic systems.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with a focus on clean, tested production code.
- Experience with multi-agent or agentic AI systems, taking full ownership as an engineer.
- Proficient in Python with experience in LLM frameworks such as LangGraph or Haystack.
- Familiarity with deploying AI/ML systems into real production environments.
- Hands-on experience with large multi-modal datasets (3TB+) for indexing and retrieval.
- Fluent in Docker, Git, and cloud platforms (preferably AWS).
- Understanding of secure deployment patterns in various environments.
