Overview
The Infrastructure Specialist will join a dynamic Technical Services Team to deliver complex technical solutions and manage smaller change initiatives. Reporting to the Technical Support Manager, the specialist will collaborate with stakeholders across various departments to ensure compliance with governance standards and the organization’s technical strategy. This role demands strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, making it ideal for a seasoned professional in IT infrastructure and project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Deliver project implementation across IT infrastructure.
- Create Low-Level Designs (LLDs) and configuration workbooks for all implementations, adhering to internal standards.
- Plan and execute build, configuration, and migration tasks across on-premises and cloud platforms.
- Ensure compliance with change control processes for technical implementations.
- Conduct production handovers, including the creation of knowledge articles and readiness for support transitions.
- Provide Early Life Support post go-live and ensure readiness for business-as-usual operations.
- Operate within PMO governance, providing status updates and ensuring adherence to security requirements.
- Liaise with external suppliers to validate designs and deliverables against contracts and SLAs.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of ITIL practices, particularly change management.
- Deep understanding of core IT infrastructure components such as compute, storage, and virtualisation.
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.
- Familiarity with enterprise networking, including SD-WAN architecture and optimization.
- Hands-on experience with network switching (Aruba/Cisco), advanced routing, and firewall technologies.
- Expertise in Windows desktop deployment and lifecycle management using Intune/SCCM.
- Candidates should hold relevant positions such as Principal Infrastructure Engineer, Senior Infrastructure Engineer, or Infrastructure Architect.
