Overview
We are seeking a skilled Microsoft Cloud Platform Owner to take complete responsibility for a global Microsoft cloud environment, including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and related Azure services. This role is hands-on and requires a focus on governance, security, cost optimization, and promoting platform adoption within a large enterprise setting. The contractor will collaborate closely with various teams to ensure effective management and implementation of cloud strategies.
Responsibilities
- Own the Microsoft 365 roadmap including Office, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Act as design authority for M365 governance, standards, and configuration.
- Oversee Entra ID, Intune, and identity services, along with Azure dependencies.
- Govern security, compliance, access, and identity controls such as Conditional Access and PIM.
- Drive standardization, automation, and user adoption across the platform.
- Manage demand intake and platform change governance.
- Lead licensing governance, optimization, and cloud cost management.
- Facilitate migration and transformation initiatives across collaboration, identity, and endpoints.
Requirements
- Strong experience in owning or governing Microsoft cloud platforms in large enterprises.
- Deep expertise in Microsoft 365, particularly SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Proven track record in delivering and governing M365 migrations.
- Solid understanding of cloud governance, security, compliance, and licensing frameworks.
- Experience with M365 licensing transformations, particularly E3 to E5.
- Experience working alongside Architecture, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and Operations teams.
- Highly desirable: Knowledge of Entra ID and identity governance.
- Advantageous: Experience in Intune and endpoint management governance.
