Overview
The Network Engineer will be a key player in configuring and managing networking equipment, primarily focusing on the deployment of routers and switches as per design specifications. This contractor will collaborate closely with project managers to implement project plans while fostering strong relationships with stakeholders. The role requires expertise in Cisco LAN technologies, contributing to the overall network architecture and functionality.
Responsibilities
- Configure routers and switches based on design documents from an IP data perspective.
- Onboard network devices onto the management platform.
- Rack and stack networking equipment in data centers.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop and deliver project implementation plans.
- Utilize knowledge of Cisco LAN and Wireless LAN technologies in daily tasks.
- Maintain effective communication with team members and clients.
- Ensure adherence to best practices in IP addressing and switching.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer with a focus on Cisco equipment.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco LAN and Wireless LAN technologies, including specific models like 3850s and Nexus 9k.
- Experience configuring networks in a managed data networking environment.
- Networking qualification or related certification is desirable.
- Ability to work independently while being a team player.
- Good interpersonal skills with effective communication capabilities.
