Overview
The Power BI Developer will play a crucial role in a major data transformation initiative, contributing to the creation of a trusted reporting environment across various business domains. This position entails collaborating with senior stakeholders to understand reporting needs, managing Azure SQL Server environments, and designing insightful Power BI dashboards that facilitate strategic decision-making. As part of a fast-paced organization, the contractor will have a significant impact on enhancing data visibility and improving business performance through effective data solutions.
Responsibilities
- Engage with senior stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and recommend BI solutions.
- Take ownership of the existing Azure SQL Server environment, including databases, integrations, and API connections.
- Troubleshoot data quality, connectivity, and integration issues across multiple business systems.
- Support the development and enhancement of data warehouse architecture, data pipelines, and transformation layers.
- Design and deliver intuitive Power BI dashboards for various stakeholders.
- Translate complex business data into actionable insights and reporting outputs.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience developing dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI.
- Advanced SQL development capability within Azure SQL Server environments.
- Experience managing and supporting existing database environments and data platforms.
- Understanding of data integrations, APIs, and troubleshooting data flows.
- Proven ability to deliver end-to-end BI solutions, from architecture through to visualization.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure; exposure to AWS or GCP is advantageous.
- Confidence in engaging with senior stakeholders and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience in fast-paced commercial organizations, ideally in media, agency, or creative sectors.
