Overview
The Programme Manager will lead a significant transformation programme for a public sector organisation, managing multiple interdependent workstreams and coordinating activities across various Directorates. This role is primarily remote, with occasional office visits, and will involve oversight of significant budgets while reporting to senior stakeholders. The Programme Manager will ensure effective governance and transition planning throughout the programme lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead a nationally significant transformation programme for the organisation.
- Manage delivery of multiple interdependent workstreams.
- Coordinate activity across all Directorates and operational functions.
- Manage significant capital and revenue programme budgets.
- Report directly to the Programme Board and Senior Responsible Owner.
- Coordinate internal and external resources involved in programme delivery.
- Oversee programme governance, assurance, benefit realisation and transition planning.
Requirements
- Degree-qualified or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Recognised Programme or Project Management qualification (MSP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM PMQ or equivalent).
- Significant experience leading large-scale programmes or complex organisational change initiatives.
- Experience of programme governance and assurance within a large organisation.
- Experience of managing substantial budgets and financial controls.
- Experience engaging with senior executives and external stakeholders.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical ability.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
