React Native Developer

Overview

We are looking for a skilled React Native Developer to join our team on a contract basis for a remote 3-month project, with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will focus on developing, maintaining, and deploying high-quality mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms, working in a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality React Native applications for iOS and Android platforms.
  • Implement features and functionalities following technical specifications and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, backend developers, and product managers, to deliver seamless user experiences.
  • Utilize Expo to streamline app development, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Manage local storage and database solutions to ensure efficient data handling and offline capabilities.
  • Implement robust request handling, including retries and background sync, to enhance app reliability and user experience.
  • Address data synchronization challenges by applying conflict resolution and data consistency strategies.
  • Participate in code reviews, write unit and integration tests, and ensure code quality standards are met.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in mobile application development using React Native.
  • Hands-on experience with Expo for building and shipping mobile apps.
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript, including defining data models, API contracts, and managing application state.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing offline-capable or offline-first mobile applications.
  • Knowledge of on-device databases and storage solutions such as expo-sqlite, WatermelonDB, Realm, or MMKV.
  • Experience implementing request queuing, retry logic, background processing, and reconnect-triggered synchronization.
  • Understanding of data synchronization challenges, conflict resolution strategies, idempotent requests, and ensuring data consistency.
  • Experience publishing applications to both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
