Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP Data Migration Lead to oversee the data migration workstream for a major SAP S4 HANA transformation project. In this role, the contractor will drive the migration strategy while coordinating a team of data analysts, ensuring successful planning, testing, and cutover phases across Finance and Professional Services data. The position requires a proactive leader capable of managing multiple countries and entities while collaborating effectively with both internal teams and external vendors.
Responsibilities
- Lead data migration planning and allocate resources across scope items.
- Define the migration strategy for moving data from source systems into SAP S/4 HANA.
- Ensure delivery assurance for the migration scope in collaboration with the SI data migration lead.
- Co-host data migration workshops in line with program objectives.
- Monitor the quality of migrated data on the target platform and resolve any data issues during SIT, UAT, and cutover.
- Facilitate data workstream status meetings and provide program updates.
- Manage the extraction, transformation, and delivery of finance and customer data by the internal team.
- Oversee data governance and ensure all migration activities are auditable and traceable.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Finance (R2R, P2P) and Professional Services data (Client Delivery, Order to Cash).
- Proven experience leading data migration projects, including planning and managing scope items.
- Solid background in Finance & Accounting migration processes.
- Experience with hybrid delivery models that combine both waterfall and agile methodologies.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with Finance BPOs/SMEs and SAP S/4 solution architects.
- Confident in managing IT vendors and systems integrators throughout the project lifecycle.
- Experience in conducting parallel migrations across multiple countries and legal entities.
- Ability to manage a small internal team focused on finance and customer data processing.
