Overview
We are seeking a Senior Azure Data Engineer for a 6-month contract role that emphasizes operational management and platform administration of a modern Microsoft Azure data platform. The ideal candidate will work within a hybrid model, collaborating closely with the engineering team and supporting enterprise cloud data services. This position is designed for professionals with a solid background in Azure data technologies, who can contribute to the ongoing development and optimization of our data infrastructure, while adhering to security protocols.
Responsibilities
- Support the operation and administration of Azure data platforms.
- Implement improvements to enterprise cloud data services.
- Manage and troubleshoot Azure Databricks, Data Factory, and Data Lake environments.
- Administer and provide support for Azure SQL and Power BI.
- Utilize Azure DevOps to maintain controlled deployment environments.
- Employ Infrastructure as Code principles using Terraform for efficient resource management.
- Collaborate with other teams to integrate and deploy solutions effectively.
- Ensure compliance with security standards, particularly within regulated environments.
Requirements
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure technologies, including Databricks, Data Factory, Data Lake, and SQL.
- Proven background in administration and operational support of Azure data platforms.
- Proficiency with Azure DevOps and deployment management practices.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably using Terraform.
- Familiarity with integration platforms such as Salesforce or MuleSoft is preferred.
- Current or recently lapsed SC Clearance, or eligibility to undergo clearance.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work within secure environments.
- Experience in highly regulated industries is advantageous.
