Overview
We are seeking a Senior Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Engineer to join a significant technology integration programme following a major acquisition. In this senior, hands-on role, you will serve as the AVD subject matter expert, collaborating on Azure infrastructure, identity, security, and modern end-user computing to achieve integration and migration objectives. This position is hybrid, requiring up to three days per week in the office, and will involve working with a diverse team to drive impactful results.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, configure and support Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments.
- Manage Host Pools, Application Groups, Workspaces, Session Hosts and Scaling Plans.
- Implement Azure infrastructure aligned to approved architecture.
- Create and optimise golden images and automate image deployment processes.
- Support application packaging, virtualisation and deployment activities.
- Configure and administer Microsoft Entra ID, PIM and Identity Governance.
- Develop PowerShell automation and support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform root cause analysis.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop.
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure infrastructure technologies.
- Experience with FSLogix Profiles and App Masking.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Entra ID, PIM and Identity Governance.
- Strong PowerShell scripting skills.
- Familiarity with Azure Networking and Azure Security practices.
- Knowledge of Windows Server and Windows 11 Enterprise.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and technical problem-solving abilities.
