Overview
The Senior Data Architect will lead the data workstream for a significant Commerce Modernisation programme, focusing on the development and implementation of data architecture across a multi-system commerce landscape. Working alongside a data analyst and delivery teams, this role will define data strategy and guide the execution of data-related initiatives over an initial three-month contract, part of a two-year transformation effort.
Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise data modelling efforts, including conceptual and logical models with guidance on physical data model requirements.
- Conduct landscape analysis of data architecture, including data ownership and movement modelling.
- Design data migration strategy, defining in-scope data, sequencing and cut-over planning.
- Assess data quality by identifying issues and developing remediation strategies.
- Model data governance practices, ensuring ownership, stewardship, and appropriate guardrails are in place.
Requirements
- Proven experience in data architecture and leading complex data projects.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise data modelling and architecture analysis.
- Experience in designing data migration strategies and assessing data quality.
- Familiarity with data governance concepts and best practices.
- Preferred experience with Commerce Engine, PIM, and OMS systems.
