Overview
We are seeking a Senior Test Engineer to take ownership of test design and execution across various client workstreams in a hybrid working environment. The contractor will collaborate with delivery, design, engineering, and operations teams to ensure comprehensive testing of the client's product and service portfolio, focusing on telecom and network infrastructure. This role requires strong technical expertise and the ability to provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members while engaging with client stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Own test design and execution for assigned workstreams across the client estate.
- Review requirements, HLDs, LLDs, and project documentation to identify test scenarios and coverage gaps.
- Produce and peer-review test scripts, test cases, and execution evidence to meet quality standards.
- Lead defect triage, root-cause analysis, and retest coordination across teams.
- Validate testing coverage prior to execution windows for various test phases.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to fellow Test Engineers to enhance scripting and evidence quality.
- Maintain ALM discipline and accuracy in test case structure, requirements traceability, and defect lifecycle reporting.
- Set up and validate complex test environments and support Test Managers with reporting and risk assessments.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in telecom/network testing.
- Strong QA and test industry knowledge of standards and methodologies.
- Proven track record of test design ownership in complex infrastructure or service transition initiatives.
- Excellent organizational and stakeholder management skills in customer-facing settings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong defect management, root-cause analysis, and test evidence management disciplines.
- Experience with performance testing tools like RFC 2544 and network test equipment.
- ISTQB Foundation certification is expected; ITIL certification is desirable.
