Overview
We are looking for a Software Verification & Test Engineer to contribute to a safety-critical aerospace programme centered on the development and verification of embedded software for sensor-based systems. In this role, you will engage in hands-on low-level testing, hardware/software integration, and test automation, collaborating closely with software, systems, and electronics engineers. The position requires expertise in a DO-178C regulated environment to ensure compliance and certification quality.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute low-level software verification activities for embedded aerospace systems.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using C and Python.
- Perform hardware/software integration testing on embedded target platforms and test rigs.
- Execute requirements-based testing, integration testing and verification activities in line with DO-178C objectives.
- Review high-level and low-level software requirements and support traceability activities.
- Investigate defects, perform root cause analysis and support issue resolution.
- Support certification, verification evidence generation and compliance activities.
Requirements
- Experience working within a DO-178C software development, verification or certification environment.
- Strong C programming experience.
- Strong Python scripting or test automation experience.
- Experience developing or maintaining test scripts and test frameworks.
- Experience with low-level software testing, integration testing and debugging.
- Understanding of embedded systems, firmware, hardware interfaces and communication protocols.
- Experience in aerospace, avionics or other safety-critical industries.
