Overview
As a Staff Full Stack Engineer on a contract basis, you will be integral to a dynamic and fast-scaling tech business, enhancing their platform through the development of high-performance backend and frontend applications. This role requires strong expertise in Rust and Java as the primary languages, complemented by hands-on experience with React and Python. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will tackle complex technical challenges while influencing architectural decisions in a fully remote working environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable backend services using Rust and Java.
- Build and maintain high-performance, customer-facing applications using React.
- Contribute to backend services, APIs, and integrations using Python.
- Own complex features end to end from architectural design to production delivery.
- Collaborate with product, design, and platform teams to deliver impactful functionality.
- Influence technical direction, engineering standards, and architectural decisions.
- Apply best practices in performance, reliability, testing, and security.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, and debugging.
Requirements
- Extensive commercial experience as a Senior or Staff-level Full Stack Engineer in production environments.
- Strong backend engineering skills in Rust and/or Java, with experience in both preferred.
- Significant experience in developing frontend applications using React.
- Hands-on knowledge of Python, particularly in backend services and APIs.
- Solid understanding of REST APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud-native development.
- Experience designing and maintaining production-grade systems.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively, take ownership of projects, and deliver results swiftly.
