Overview
The Technical Business Analyst will join a specialist data governance team to support a major organization in assessing its current governance position. This contract role requires collaboration with senior stakeholders, facilitation of workshops, and the development of a practical data governance framework. The focus will be on gathering requirements, analyzing data governance processes, and creating clear documentation of findings and recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support requirements-gathering sessions and stakeholder workshops.
- Assess current data governance arrangements, processes, and controls.
- Identify gaps, priorities, and requirements for a future data governance framework.
- Develop clear written outputs, including findings, recommendations, and framework documentation.
- Collaborate with data governance specialists, consultants, and other Technical BAs.
- Translate governance requirements into practical approaches for business and technology teams.
- Utilize knowledge of technologies that support data governance, particularly within AWS environments.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst, with a focus on data governance.
- Strong understanding of DAMA principles and data governance best practices.
- Experience in designing or implementing data governance frameworks.
- Excellent workshop facilitation and requirements-gathering skills.
- Ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders and challenge constructively.
- Exceptional written communication skills with a knack for distilling complex findings into clear outputs.
- Proactive and self-starting approach with strong judgment.
- Experience in regulated or complex enterprise environments is advantageous.
