Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer for a short-term contract focused on data migration. This role requires the contractor to work on-site five days a week, supporting a leading manufacturing client's project to transition data from MySQL databases to Google Cloud Platform's BigQuery. The position is expected to last three months, with a potential for extension.
Responsibilities
- Provide interim support for data migration activities.
- Migrate SQL data from MySQL to Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery).
- Utilize strong scripting skills to facilitate migration processes.
- Collaborate with project teams on data architecture and API understanding.
- Ensure data integrity throughout the migration process.
- Participate in virtual screening and face-to-face interviews as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience with Google BigQuery migration.
- Strong scripting knowledge, particularly in PHP and Python.
- Extensive experience with SQL/MySQL.
- Prior involvement in data migration projects or programs.
- Understanding of API integration and Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
- Immediate availability and local commutation ability to Oxford area is preferred.
