Overview
We are seeking an experienced User Researcher to join a multidisciplinary digital team focused on delivering user-centered services for a high-profile UK Government programme. The selected contractor will work closely with Product Managers, Designers, Developers, and Delivery Managers to conduct various qualitative and quantitative research activities that inform digital product design and service delivery, ensuring user needs are prioritized throughout the process.
Responsibilities
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative user research activities across the service lifecycle.
- Identify user behaviors, pain points, and opportunities for product improvement.
- Translate complex research findings into actionable insights to influence design decisions.
- Plan and facilitate workshops and user research playback sessions.
- Engage with stakeholders to advocate for user-centered design practices.
- Synthesize research data into personas, user journeys, and recommendations.
- Communicate research findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a User Researcher in Agile digital delivery environments.
- Active SC clearance is essential; applicants must hold this clearance already.
- Familiarity with GDS Service Standards or similar user-centered design frameworks.
- Strong experience conducting discovery (generative) and evaluative user research.
- Ability to plan and conduct interviews, usability testing, and other research activities.
- Excellent facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to synthesize and communicate research findings effectively.
