Analytics Engineer

Overview

The Analytics Engineer will join a global consumer products business on a fully remote, 6-month contract to enhance their data foundations and analytics capabilities. This role involves assessing and improving the existing data warehouse while implementing robust processes for data integrity and automation. The engineer will collaborate with the data function to optimize data workflows and influence the future direction of the business's analytics architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Review the existing data environment, including the data warehouse, pipelines, and transformation processes.
  • Improve and, where necessary, rebuild elements of the data warehouse and underlying foundations.
  • Identify and resolve issues affecting data integrity, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Develop and enhance ETL processes using Alteryx and SQL.
  • Automate manual or inefficient processes with scalable data workflows.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for the future data architecture.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with SQL and Alteryx.
  • Proven background in data warehousing and ETL/data transformation.
  • Experience with data modelling and improving data quality.
  • Ability to build and automate data pipelines/workflows.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and capability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with Qlik or Qlik Sense is a plus.
  • Experience working in FMCG, retail, or consumer businesses is desirable.
  • Experience with both cloud and on-premise data environments.
