Overview
We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer with strong expertise in Azure to enhance our engineering capabilities. The successful candidate will manage and evolve the cloud environment, ensuring a reliable and well-governed platform for engineers and AI initiatives. You will work collaboratively with various teams to implement best practices in cloud architecture and AI integration, driving modernisation and efficiency in platform delivery.
Responsibilities
- Shape the platform architecture, focusing on container orchestration and managed database services.
- Own and streamline the path from code commit to production, including pipelines and release automation.
- Design and manage network architecture, identity management, and access governance for the platform.
- Implement robust observability features including tracing, logging, and alerting.
- Facilitate a phased migration between cloud and on-premise systems.
- Establish guidelines for AI-generated infrastructure changes to ensure stability and governance.
- Work with AI coding tools as part of daily engineering practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience in production Azure environments, including AKS, Container Apps, and managed PostgreSQL.
- Proficient in Terraform or Bicep for infrastructure as code implementation.
- Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Azure DevOps.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, identity, and access management.
- Ability to incorporate observability into engineering practices.
- Familiarity with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot is essential.
- Desirable: Experience with hybrid on-premise systems or a SaaS/product engineering background.
