Overview
This contract role as a Data Analyst / BI Developer offers a unique opportunity to work closely with senior leaders in a UK technology company. The successful candidate will be essential in presenting insights derived from data, primarily focusing on Power BI reporting and SQL analysis, to inform business decisions across multiple divisions. With a modern tech stack already established, you will engage directly with leadership, bridging the gap between data analytics and business strategy.
Responsibilities
- Present insights directly to divisional MDs and Heads of Finance across business units.
- Build and extend Power BI reporting on revenue, profitability, and sales pipeline.
- Conduct ad hoc SQL analysis in Snowflake, including performance trends.
- Develop data transformations in Matillion and Snowflake in collaboration with the engineering team.
- Utilize statistical analysis to validate insights before presenting to the business.
Requirements
- Proficient in Power BI, from data modeling to report generation.
- Solid understanding of SQL and relational database fundamentals.
- Ability to communicate data insights in clear, business-friendly language to senior stakeholders.
- Experience with Snowflake, Matillion, or other ELT tools (e.g., dbt, Fivetran, Alteryx) is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with experience presenting to leadership teams.
