Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist for an initial 6-month contract to join a fast-scaling, data-driven organization. In this hybrid role, you will work closely with large and complex datasets to generate actionable insights that enhance customer and commercial performance. Collaborating with a team of stakeholders, you will leverage AI models and your technical expertise to analyze customer data and identify opportunities for improvement.
Responsibilities
- Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns and opportunities to improve performance.
- Deliver actionable insight across lead generation, conversion, customer behaviour and retention.
- Translate commercial questions into structured analytical problems and determine appropriate analytical approaches.
- Use SQL and Python to interrogate, manipulate and analyse data.
- Apply statistical and data science techniques to understand customer behaviour and performance drivers.
- Analyse structured and unstructured customer data, including data captured from customer conversations.
- Develop and improve dashboards, reporting and KPI measurement.
- Present analytical findings as clear, practical recommendations to commercial and operational stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong experience as a Data Scientist, Decision Scientist or in a similarly hands-on analytical role.
- Advanced SQL and strong Python skills.
- Excellent exploratory data analysis and analytical problem-solving capability.
- Strong statistical knowledge with practical experience applying data science and machine-learning techniques.
- Experience analysing customer and commercial performance, ideally across acquisition, conversion, retention or customer behaviour.
- Experience with unstructured or semi-structured data, ideally text or conversational data.
- Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Experience within insurance, financial services, regulated environments or high-volume B2C businesses would be advantageous.
