Overview
We are seeking experienced Backend Java Tech Leads to join a consultancy for a digital transformation programme in the iGaming and Sports Betting sector. In this fully remote role, you will provide technical leadership and be responsible for directing workstreams, mentoring engineers, and ensuring high-quality delivery. You will leverage your expertise in modern Java and Spring Boot to enhance productivity and drive project success.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the technical direction of your workstream.
- Mentor and coach engineering team members to foster their development.
- Ensure delivery aligns with project timelines and engineering best practices.
- Conduct code reviews to uphold coding standards and maintainability.
- Implement automated testing practices, including unit testing.
- Utilize modern tools and AI-assisted development to streamline processes.
- Integrate and manage cloud services and CI/CD pipelines effectively.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Tech Lead or in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in modern Java (Java 8+) and Spring Boot.
- Experience working with REST APIs and event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka).
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, such as Claude Code.
- Knowledge of cloud services, preferably AWS.
- Understanding of CI/CD practices and tools.
- Track record of delivering high-quality software in fast-paced environments.
