Overview
As a Lead DevOps Engineer on a contract basis, you will spearhead the development and implementation of AWS infrastructure for various digital transformation projects. Collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and designers, you will guide technical decisions and improve CI/CD pipelines while ensuring best practices in DevOps are followed. This role offers you the autonomy to build systems from the ground up rather than simply maintaining existing setups, engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout the process.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and management of AWS infrastructure for products developed in TypeScript, Node, and Python.
- Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines for efficient and secure software releases.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, primarily using Terraform.
- Collaborte with project teams to ensure technical decisions are well communicated and understood.
- Provide mentorship to other engineers on DevOps best practices.
- Conduct meetings and workshops with clients as necessary.
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience with AWS in production environments.
- Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code, preferably using Terraform.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools, such as GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration, including Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes.
- Previous leadership experience in DevOps or a similar role.
- Comfortable engaging with clients and explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
