Overview
We are looking for a Lead Oracle Developer to guide the design and development of advanced database solutions in a hybrid work environment, spending three days in the Glasgow City Centre office. The selected candidate will collaborate with solution architects and business stakeholders while mentoring junior developers, ensuring the technical direction aligns with project goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and analysis of database solutions with stakeholders and architects.
- Create and maintain Technical Design Documents (TDDs) ensuring project adherence.
- Develop, review, and optimise complex Oracle PL/SQL code including Procedures and Functions.
- Conduct thorough code reviews, upholding development standards.
- Coordinate with teams to ensure timely and consistent delivery of solutions.
- Manage the software development lifecycle independently from design to deployment.
- Act as the primary technical contact for the development team, facilitating communication.
- Provide technical guidance during project planning and architectural design sessions.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of experience as an Oracle Developer with expertise in PL/SQL and Oracle Database 19C.
- Proven ability to lead database development projects from conception to completion.
- Strong skills in writing and optimising complex PL/SQL code including various database objects.
- Solid understanding of database design principles, indexing strategies, and performance tuning.
- Experience with Technical Design Documents and familiarity with formal SDLC processes.
- Excellent communication skills, adept at engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Oracle Forms and Reports, as well as performance tuning is a plus.
- Familiarity with version control tools and project management software is advantageous.
