Overview
The Mobile App Developer role is a fully remote contract position focused on building a client-facing digital product that integrates seamlessly with backend services featuring AI capabilities. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with backend developers and client stakeholders to deliver a mobile experience that meets real business needs and enhances user engagement. This position encompasses the entire mobile development lifecycle, from technical design and development to testing and post-launch maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the mobile application for the agreed platform scope.
- Integrate responsive mobile interfaces with backend APIs based on user journeys and business requirements.
- Implement authentication, session management, secure storage, and user access behaviors.
- Present AI-generated information and workflow outcomes with appropriate user interface states.
- Address unreliable connectivity issues, including retry behavior and data synchronization.
- Test the application across supported devices and operating system versions, resolving usability and performance issues.
- Manage application builds, signing, and support release preparations and submissions to app stores.
- Maintain relevant documentation and support handover processes post-release.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in delivering mobile applications for real users.
- Strong proficiency in at least one relevant development approach (e.g., React Native, Flutter, Swift, Kotlin).
- Experience integrating REST APIs and working with JSON data.
- Understanding of mobile authentication, permissions, and secure local storage.
- Comfort with testing and debugging applications and addressing performance concerns.
- Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical colleagues and client stakeholders.
- Desirable experience with app store releases and connecting mobile products to AI services.
