Network Test Engineer

Overview

The role of the Senior Network Test Engineer involves taking ownership of test design and execution for various workstreams within a client engagement, ensuring comprehensive coverage of testing phases for a wide range of network services and infrastructures. The contractor will collaborate with design, engineering, and operations teams while providing technical mentorship to junior test engineers. This hybrid position is ideal for individuals with a deep understanding of telecom network testing and proven experience in both automated and manual testing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Own test design and execution for assigned workstreams across the client estate.
  • Produce and peer-review test scripts, test cases, and execution evidence.
  • Lead defect triage, root-cause analysis, and retest coordination efforts.
  • Validate test coverage for System Integration, Functional, and Non-Functional requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior Test Engineers.
  • Set up and validate complex test environments and performance testing.
  • Interface with client stakeholders in test discussions and triage calls.
  • Drive the reuse of test assets and contribute to productivity enhancements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in telecom/network testing.
  • Strong knowledge of QA standards and methodologies.
  • Proficient in test design ownership on complex programmes.
  • Excellent defect management and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Strong organizational and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience with network infrastructure testing tools and methodologies.
  • Adequate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • ISTQB Foundation certification preferred; relevant network/cloud certifications desired.
