Overview

The PMO - Project Planner will play a critical role in leading and coordinating project planning activities within a consultancy environment focused on a significant government contract. Working in collaboration with various stakeholders, this role aims to support the successful delivery of programme outcomes. The individual will promote planning excellence, challenge assumptions, and develop structured plans while ensuring that stakeholder requirements are effectively communicated and integrated across the teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate project planning activities in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Promote planning excellence through best practice methods and reporting standards.
  • Challenge and validate assumptions to ensure plans are realistic and achievable.
  • Develop work breakdown structures and quality criteria for effective delivery.
  • Optimize delivery schedules through resource levelling and activity sequencing.
  • Manage planning resources and support development of planning capability.
  • Ensure stakeholder requirements and dependencies are reflected in plans.
  • Build relationships across project management and operational teams for integrated delivery.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in project planning and management within a PMO environment.
  • Strong understanding of project planning methodologies and tools.
  • Demonstrated capability in stakeholder engagement and communication.
  • Experience in developing work breakdown structures and quality criteria.
  • Knowledge of resource levelling and sequencing techniques.
  • Must hold valid security clearance due to the nature of the contract.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience working on government contracts or large programs is preferred.
