Overview
We are seeking a skilled Power BI Developer to join a significant Retail Transformation Programme on an initial 3-month contract. The successful candidate will leverage their experience in retail to deliver comprehensive reporting and analytics solutions that enhance operations across Retail, Omnichannel, eCommerce, and Finance. Collaboration with various stakeholders will be essential to deliver insights that drive business decisions and support transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop enterprise-level Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions.
- Translate complex retail requirements into meaningful reports, KPIs, and data models.
- Develop complex DAX measures and execute Power Query transformations.
- Build semantic models using dimensional and star-schema principles.
- Integrate Power BI with SQL Server, Azure, Databricks, and other enterprise data sources.
- Optimize datasets, refresh processes, and report performance.
- Implement Row-Level Security and best practices in governance and reporting.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers and Business Analysts throughout the transformation programme.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Power BI Developer in a retail environment.
- Strong understanding of retail transformation and major change programmes.
- Expertise in Power BI Desktop & Service, DAX, Power Query, and SQL/T-SQL.
- Experience with data modelling, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
- Familiarity with large and complex retail datasets.
- Knowledge of Databricks, Azure Data Factory, or Azure SQL is advantageous.
- Strong stakeholder management skills across business and technology teams.
- Ability to transition reporting solutions into a sustainable BAU environment.
