Overview
The role of Product Engineer (Backend-Leaning) focuses on developing backend services primarily in Python, within a dynamic and technology-driven organization specializing in billing, pricing, and commercial platforms for the energy sector. The successful candidate will work within a high-caliber engineering team to design effective solutions that manage complex data and commercial functionalities. This position allows for substantial ownership of projects and influence over technical direction in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and own backend services using Python.
- Build scalable billing, pricing, and commercial platform functionalities.
- Develop APIs and workflows for processing high volumes of transactional data.
- Model complex business rules and financial calculations.
- Collaborate closely with Product teams to design solutions from first principles.
- Contribute across the development stack with TypeScript.
- Enhance reliability, scalability, and engineering standards as the platform evolves.
Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience.
- Strong production-grade Python development skills.
- Experience in building billing, settlement, or pricing platforms.
- Familiarity with the Energy sector or Financial Trading is highly desirable.
- Proficient in handling data-heavy systems and complex business logic.
- Demonstrated strong ownership and product mindset.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience in startup or scale-up environments is advantageous.
