Overview
The Senior Java/Kotlin Developer will be responsible for owning the back-end architecture of a multi-year program aimed at replacing an aging system critical to production across multiple sites. This role focuses on creating a clean, event-driven codebase while ensuring the migration of essential operational logic from a legacy database without interrupting business operations. Collaboration with domain experts is essential to effectively capture and implement the required knowledge into the new system architecture.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of back-end architecture using Kotlin and Java.
- Oversee the incremental migration of a live system, ensuring data integrity and continuity.
- Collaborate with domain experts to capture operational logic for inclusion in the new codebase.
- Develop the event-driven core of the new system utilising Spring Boot and PostgreSQL.
- Establish coding standards and best practices for the development team.
- Conduct monthly on-site meetings to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.
- Monitor and validate system performance post-migration to ensure business continuity.
Requirements
- Proven experience in leading back-end architecture using Kotlin or Java.
