Overview
We are seeking a Senior JavaScript Engineer on a contract basis, focused on backend development with TypeScript, Next.js, Supabase, and PostgreSQL. In this role, you will work collaboratively in a team of three, taking significant ownership in bringing technology in-house and developing essential backend architectures and APIs for a mission-driven B2B start-up that aims to address skills gaps in the transition to a greener economy. You will directly report to the Technical Lead while contributing to the evolution of the platform's capabilities, including AI-driven solutions.
Responsibilities
- Build new products and features end-to-end.
- Develop backend services and APIs in TypeScript.
- Design data models and work extensively with PostgreSQL.
- Build third-party integrations.
- Contribute to Next.js applications.
- Help bring core technology in-house.
- Develop new AI/LLM-led product capabilities.
- Make architectural decisions alongside the Technical Lead.
Requirements
- Strong experience in TypeScript and backend development.
- Proficient with PostgreSQL/SQL and data modeling.
- Extensive experience with APIs and third-party integrations.
- Product-minded with evidence of end-to-end feature ownership.
- Comfortable operating autonomously in early-stage start-up environments.
- Available for an immediate start or within one week.
- Experience with Supabase, AI/LLM, or EdTech/LMS is a plus.
