Overview
The Senior Platform Engineer will play a vital role in enhancing the Snowflake platform used by data teams. This fully remote contract position focuses on optimizing self-service capabilities, automation, security, and governance aspects of the platform, ensuring efficient delivery of data products. The engineer will collaborate closely with teams to automate processes and develop innovative solutions for unique data requests, contributing to the creation of an internal data marketplace across multiple Snowflake accounts.
Responsibilities
- Shape and enhance the Snowflake platform for data teams.
- Automate the build of data products and replace slow manual processes with reusable workflows.
- Implement role-based access control (RBAC), data sharing, and security measures.
- Collaborate with teams to determine solutions for new or complex requests.
- Optimize the self-service capabilities of the platform.
- Work on maintaining cost controls and monitoring resource usage within Snowflake.
Requirements
- Significant hands-on experience with Snowflake platform, including account and warehouse management.
- Proficiency in Terraform and CI/CD for Snowflake and AWS.
- Experience in building or improving a self-service data platform used by other engineers.
- Ability to work independently and proactively solve problems without waiting for tickets.
- Familiarity with data governance tools such as Immuta, Collibra, or BigID is a plus.
