Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Site Engineer/Manager for a long-term civil groundworks and data centre project in Farnborough, with a key focus on technical delivery and day-to-day site management. This role involves ensuring that all project aspects comply with safety and quality standards, making the contractor an essential part of the project team until February 2027.
Responsibilities
- Carry out precise setting out, checking levels, coordinates, and dimensions against construction drawings.
- Manage and set out underground services to ensure correct installation and integration with wider civils works.
- Oversee foundation layouts, concrete pours, and structural elements for accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate the construction of roads, kerbs, and external works to meet project design and specifications.
- Interpret construction drawings, perform checks, and produce precise as-built records for handover and QA.
- Lead quality assurance, managing Inspection Test Plans, inspection records, and all quality documentation.
- Plan works, coordinate labour and resources, and oversee daily site delivery.
- Work closely with site teams and stakeholders, utilizing civils groundworks and data centre experience.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer/Manager in civil engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, particularly in groundworks and data centres.
- Experience in managing and setting out underground services, foundations, and concrete works.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and produce as-built records.
- Familiarity with quality assurance practices and documentation management.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Commercial awareness regarding project progress and productivity management.
- Ability to coordinate and collaborate effectively with site teams and stakeholders.
