Solar Site Quality Inspections Engineer

Overview

The Solar Site Quality Inspections Engineer will provide expert oversight on solar construction projects, ensuring compliance and quality standards are met on-site. This role entails conducting daily inspections, validating adherence to specifications, and collaborating closely with project management and quality assurance teams. The engineer will contribute to documentation processes and defect reporting to facilitate a smooth construction workflow, making this position essential in maintaining project integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily inspections of solar site installations, including ramming, structures, modules, and cabling.
  • Verify adherence to manuals with inspections of torque marks, mounting sequences, and cable management.
  • Ensure effective material traceability for all onsite components and materials.
  • Assist in compiling the "Technical Memory" and manage necessary checklists and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Report immediate technical concerns to the QA/QC Manager and Project Manager to prevent rework.

Requirements

  • Possess a relevant HNC or HND qualification or higher.
  • Demonstrate proven experience in large-scale solar PV construction, ideally with projects exceeding 150 MW.
  • Exhibit strong capability to interpret technical specifications and drawings.
  • Achieve advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Maintain a methodical approach for site record management and material tracking.
  • Hold valid UK site access certificates (CSCS or equivalent).
  • English proficiency is mandatory; Spanish and German language skills are highly valued.
