Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technology Due Diligence Consultant for a two to three-week engagement focused on private equity technology and operations due diligence within the water services and built environment sectors. The consultant will collaborate with the project lead to examine software platforms, connected devices, and the associated service operations, while assessing engineering quality, technical practices, and operational efficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Review engineering quality, architecture, technical debt, third party dependencies, and scalability.
- Assess product management, engineering, and technology operations practices against industry norms.
- Evaluate hardware development including bill of materials risk and regulatory certification.
- Cover cybersecurity, business continuity, and data management aspects.
- Map operational processes to identify cost, margin, and operational levers.
- Conduct interviews with management, document findings, and draft sections of the report.
Requirements
- Mid-career professional with 8 to 15 years of experience in software or connected hardware businesses.
- Prior technology due diligence experience from the investor perspective or as a hands-on CTO or engineering lead.
- Experience in regulated environments such as water, utilities, or healthcare estates is advantageous.
- Ability to form and support evidence-based judgments for investment discussions.
- Strong written communication skills for drafting documentation.
- Familiarity with both hardware and software elements in technology due diligence.
