Overview
The Test Equipment Engineer will play a critical role in the design, development, and delivery of automated production test systems for complex electronic products. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary engineering team, the contractor will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of automated test equipment, providing technical support to manufacturing and contributing to ongoing improvements in production processes.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and validate automated production test equipment.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation throughout the development lifecycle.
- Evaluate, optimise, and debug automated test systems and associated hardware.
- Support manufacturing with fault finding, root cause analysis, and production test improvements.
- Investigate production issues and implement solutions to enhance product quality and manufacturing yield.
Requirements
- Experience designing, developing, and delivering automated test equipment.
- Strong understanding of electronic measurement techniques and test principles.
- Hands-on experience with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, network analysers, power supplies, and digital multimeters.
- Knowledge of automated test systems and standard instrument communication protocols.
- Experience working across the full product development lifecycle.
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills with a methodical approach to problem solving.
