Overview
The Lead Electrical Engineer will oversee the electrical engineering scope for multiple significant water infrastructure projects, ensuring high-quality technical delivery. This role involves leading teams, managing project schedules, and coordinating engineering efforts across various disciplines, all while maintaining compliance with UK standards and regulations. The engineer will be instrumental in supporting project teams and driving engineering excellence throughout all stages of design and delivery, particularly in the water sector.
Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of the electrical engineering scope across multiple projects.
- Manage schedules, MDRs, change control, reporting, and technical coordination.
- Delegate and oversee work packages within the electrical team.
- Support estimating activities including CTR development.
- Provide technical leadership across all deliverables, including Basis of Design and power systems.
- Prepare requisitions for HV/LV equipment and review supplier quotations.
- Develop installation scopes of work and ensure compliance with standards.
- Liaise with DNOs and external stakeholders while managing lifecycle planning for equipment.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical / Electronic / Control Engineering (or equivalent).
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (or working towards).
- Strong knowledge of UK standards and legislation.
- Experience in regulated environments, including explosive atmospheres.
- Knowledge of CE marking requirements (ATEX, PED, LV Directive).
- Strong understanding of HSE and risk management principles.
- Proven experience in managing technical delivery in engineering projects.
