Overview
We are seeking an experienced Test Manager to lead and manage testing and assurance activities for complex integrated systems within the UK’s critical infrastructure and technology sector. In this hybrid role, you will work with an established engineering team, providing technical leadership and ensuring high standards of test execution across multiple disciplines. This position offers an initial 6-month contract with strong potential for extension.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage test strategies and plans.
- Create and maintain test scripts, procedures, and reports.
- Manage system-level Verification & Validation (V&V) activities.
- Ensure requirements are verifiable, complete, and traceable.
- Define appropriate test and acceptance criteria.
- Manage test environments, tools, and resources.
- Investigate test failures and provide recommendations.
- Provide technical leadership to a team of Test Engineers.
Requirements
- Significant experience in Test Management, Test Assurance, or Systems V&V.
- Strong experience working with complex, integrated systems.
- Experience producing formal test documentation, including test plans, scripts, and reports.
- Understanding of systems engineering and software lifecycles.
- Experience working within real-time, safety-critical, or business-critical systems.
- Ability to lead or coordinate test engineers and wider technical teams.
- Strong stakeholder and supplier management skills.
- An engineering qualification at HNC level or above, or equivalent relevant experience.
