Overview
The U-Boot Porting Engineer will work remotely across Europe on a long-term contract, focusing on the development of low-level bootloader and firmware solutions for next-generation high-end Cortex-A MPUs. This role is ideal for experienced embedded engineers with a passion for hands-on porting and hardware bring-up, contributing to the open-source community while working closely with advanced silicon technologies.
Responsibilities
- Port and bring up U-Boot on a new SoC, working across the boot chain from early hardware bring-up.
- Develop U-Boot and/or Arm TF-A bootloaders (BL2/BL3) for high-end Cortex-A/MPU architectures.
- Contribute changes upstream through open-source processes.
- Support the platform with BSP, Device Tree, and embedded Linux tasks.
Requirements
- Proven experience with embedded C and low-level development.
- Hands-on involvement in U-Boot and/or ARM TF-A bootloader development.
- Familiarity with open-source upstream processes.
- Experience with Cortex-A or high-end MPU architectures like Renesas RZ.
- Knowledge of Linux BSPs, Device Tree, and embedded Linux.
- Proficient in Yocto and Linux kernel debugging.
- Experience with hardware bring-up and debugging.
