Overview
The freelance Site Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all site engineering duties on a significant civil engineering and groundworks package for new data centres. This role involves collaboration with various teams and stakeholders to ensure engineering quality and compliance throughout the project duration of at least 18 months. The position is outside IR35 and offers a competitive salary based on experience.
Responsibilities
- Oversee site setting out and engineering design implementation.
- Ensure quality assurance processes are maintained throughout the project.
- Address and resolve technical queries and challenges on-site.
- Produce as-built documentation to reflect construction progress.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure timelines and quality standards are met.
- Conduct inspections and compliance checks of groundworks and civil engineering packages.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer in civil engineering and groundworks.
- Strong understanding of bulk excavation, ground remediation, and sub-structure work.
- Familiarity with reinforced concrete structures and external works.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate technical information clearly.
- Experience with quality assurance and compliance standards in construction projects.
- Valid qualifications or certifications related to civil engineering preferred.
