Overview
The Alation Data Governance Consultant will support a client's implementation of Data Governance using Alation. In this fully remote contract role, the consultant will focus on designing, configuring, and rolling out Alation solutions tailored to specific business needs. The position will require close collaboration with various business units to ensure effective adoption and compliance with governance standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop standardised templates and deployment patterns for Alation Catalogue implementation.
- Design and configure intuitive Alation dashboards and navigation for users.
- Define and configure approval workflows for governed assets.
- Establish monitoring and reporting for asset adoption and compliance.
- Develop standardised business glossary onboarding templates and processes.
- Implement the Alation role structure and configure the Community hierarchy.
- Support the migration of Alation configuration and content between environments.
- Translate business requirements into actionable configuration deliverables.
Requirements
- Recent hands-on experience with Alation implementation and configuration.
- Strong experience in Data Governance roles and operating models.
- Experience in designing business glossaries and metadata structures.
- Proficiency in configuring workflows for approval and asset certification.
- Experience with data lineage for impact analysis and discovery.
- Ability to manage user training and communication effectively.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage project timelines.
