Overview
The role of the Contract Business Analyst is crucial for guiding a major core systems modernisation programme within a logistics environment. The contractor will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand existing processes and drive the transition to a new SaaS platform. Their focus will be on harmonising requirements and ensuring the new system aligns with operational goals while effectively facilitating stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery and analysis of operational domains to assess current-state processes and systems.
- Elicit, define, and manage business requirements for process harmonisation and platform consolidation.
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions to align teams on target outcomes and priorities.
- Produce documentation including process maps, user journeys, use cases, and functional requirements.
- Partner with product, engineering, architecture, and vendor teams to translate business needs into requirements.
- Support evaluation of solution options, including gap analysis between current capabilities and proposed SaaS solutions.
- Contribute to governance and ensure requirements are testable and aligned with programme goals.
- Help stakeholders understand impacts to processes, roles, and workflows to support change readiness.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst in logistics, transport, supply chain, or operational environments.
- Strong understanding of operational processes in Freight and/or Express logistics.
- Experience with core systems modernisation or platform consolidation programmes.
- Exposure to SaaS implementations and working with third-party vendors.
- Confident stakeholder management skills across business and technology teams.
- Strong process modelling and requirements engineering capabilities.
- Ability to identify opportunities to standardise and simplify processes.
