Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer to provide technical expertise on nuclear-related projects for a prominent nuclear solutions provider. In this hybrid role, you will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and deliver innovative EC&I design and technical solutions, primarily on significant programmes within the nuclear sector. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in functional safety while ensuring compliance with nuclear standards.
Responsibilities
- Deliver electrical, control, and instrumentation design across nuclear projects.
- Produce technical documentation including SLDs, cable schedules, equipment specifications, and control system designs.
- Develop control system architectures and specifications.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on project delivery.
- Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with nuclear standards and regulatory requirements.
- Specify electrical and control equipment for nuclear applications and manage procurement coordination.
- Support commissioning activities and provide technical support to construction and operations teams.
- Resolve technical issues during implementation and ensure rigorous quality assurance.
Requirements
- Eligibility to obtain Security Clearance (SC) is essential.
- Degree in electrical, electronic, control, or related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in EC&I engineering on nuclear or similarly regulated projects.
- Proven track record in delivering electrical design on complex programmes.
- Expert-level knowledge of control system design, electrical power systems, instrumentation, and measurement systems.
- Strong understanding of UK nuclear legislation and standards, HSE requirements, and risk management.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Preferred: Functional Safety certification and experience with IEC 61508, IEC 61511 standards.
