Overview
The Head of Artificial Intelligence will lead the AI function for a rapidly growing Energy Trading house embarking on an enterprise-wide AI journey. The role involves defining AI strategy, shaping and guiding the AI team, and being hands-on in the execution of AI initiatives. Collaborating with various business areas, this position focuses on transforming AI ideas into practical, production-grade solutions, with a significant emphasis on compliance and regulatory considerations in the energy trading sector.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement the AI strategy across the enterprise.
- Lead and mentor existing and future AI engineers.
- Translate AI concepts into working prototypes and production solutions.
- Identify and prioritize AI use cases that add business value.
- Integrate AI solutions with existing business systems and data.
- Ensure compliance with internal AI policies and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate complex AI solutions to senior stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements in AI.
Requirements
- Senior-level experience in AI engineering in an enterprise context.
- Strong hands-on technical capabilities in AI and machine learning.
- Experience in transitioning AI ideas to proof of concepts (POCs) and production implementations.
- Knowledge of large language models (LLMs), generative AI, and autonomous agents.
- Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance related to AI deployment.
- Experience in energy trading or commodities is highly desirable.
- Ability to communicate complex AI concepts effectively to business leaders.
- Experience building and developing AI engineering teams.
