Overview
The Infrastructure Manager contractor will lead a team within a global organization, focusing on infrastructure management over an initial six-month period. This role involves providing strategic direction, overseeing infrastructure improvements, and ensuring compliance with industry standards while working hybrid, balancing office presence with remote work.
Responsibilities
- Provide direction and management for a team of four infrastructure personnel.
- Deliver the UK infrastructure refresh and ensure compliance with Cyber Essential standards.
- Establish and implement baseline BAU processes for stable infrastructure.
- Evaluate team staffing and skills, outlining a plan to address any gaps.
- Collaborate with a technical PM on global infrastructure migrations.
- Implement a Manage Engine monitoring solution for system performance visibility.
- Ensure a comprehensive backup and recovery strategy in a third-party data centre.
- Assist in recruiting a permanent Infrastructure and EUC Manager.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Infrastructure Manager in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure components like VMware, HyperV, Microsoft 365, and Meraki.
- Experience in managing teams and providing strategic direction.
- Familiarity with Cyber Essential standards and best practices.
- Ability to design and implement monitoring solutions.
- Experience in developing improvement plans for IT infrastructure.
- Skill in evaluating and recruiting technical staff.
- Comfortable in a hybrid work environment, with office presence three days per week.
