Overview
The Payroll Business Analyst will be instrumental in supporting a leading UK telecommunications and media organization through a complex payroll transformation project. This consulting role involves conducting an independent review of the client's payroll service and defining a sustainable future operating model. The contractor will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including HR, Finance, IT, and third-party providers, to analyze processes, gather data, and recommend improvements.
Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end diagnostic analysis across payroll processes, systems, data, controls, and governance.
- Facilitate process walkthroughs and document current-state processes, issues, dependencies, and control gaps.
- Analyze payroll data to identify trends, exceptions, and potential root causes.
- Develop and validate future-state processes and requirements, as well as the Target Operating Model.
- Maintain structured analysis of risks, issues, actions, and improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with client stakeholders and third-party providers to gather and validate evidence.
- Identify and define practical tactical improvements and longer-term recommendations.
Requirements
- Significant experience as a Payroll Business Analyst within complex payroll environments.
- Strong capability in process mapping and requirements analysis.
- Proficiency in payroll data analysis and data validation.
- Experience with root cause analysis and process improvement.
- Understanding of payroll controls, governance, and audit requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in complex, multi-stakeholder environments involving HR, Finance, IT, and third-party providers.
- Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation, and documentation.
