Planning Engineer

Overview

The Planning Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting major Offshore Wind projects by focusing on the development and maintenance of project schedules. Reporting to the Planning Manager, this contractor will collaborate with various teams including engineering, procurement, construction, and offshore installation. The primary objective is to ensure project timelines are adhered to while facilitating project control and risk management activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Develop tender/bid schedules, assessing feasibility and identifying critical activities.
  • Monitor progress against baseline and analyse schedule deviations.
  • Produce 90-day look-ahead, weekly, and monthly schedules.
  • Coordinate schedules across engineering, procurement, construction, and offshore installation teams.
  • Undertake critical path analysis, Time Impact Analysis (TIA), and Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA).
  • Support project reporting, contract amendments, variations, and claims.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years’ experience in project planning/scheduling.
  • Experience in Offshore Wind, offshore Oil & Gas, or major offshore engineering projects.
  • Strong proficiency in Primavera P6.
  • EPCI/EPC project experience is advantageous.
  • HNC/HND, degree, or equivalent relevant qualification is required.
