Overview
The Tar Manager will oversee the management and execution of a significant turnaround project at a chemical site, ensuring successful delivery from planning through to completion. This role involves close collaboration with various teams and contractors to achieve quality outcomes while maintaining safety and compliance standards on-site. The contractor will play a crucial role in leading shutdown activities and coordinating resources in the lead-up to the event.
Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for shutdown activities from pre-planning through to completion.
- Coordinate multiple contractors, trades, and site teams.
- Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, HSE, and Project teams.
- Manage contractor performance, productivity, and resource levels.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with site procedures and relevant legislation.
- Maintain clear communication between management, supervisors, contractors, and the client.
- Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the shutdown.
- Lead the closeout process, including outstanding works, reporting, and lessons learned.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing shutdowns on Top Tier COMAH sites.
- Experience working in senior management on large petrochem projects.
- Strong understanding of safety and compliance regulations.
- Ability to coordinate multiple teams effectively.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Experience with performance management of contractors and site teams.
- Familiarity with turnaround processes and project management principles.
