Overview
We are seeking a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to join our UK DevOps function on a fully remote, 8-month contract. The successful candidate will play a vital role in designing and building secure and scalable AWS serverless infrastructures while collaborating effectively across technical and non-technical teams. This position offers high autonomy and is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in AWS development and production environments.
Responsibilities
- Design and build secure, scalable, and resilient AWS serverless infrastructure.
- Develop automation, tooling, and workflow orchestration using Python and TypeScript.
- Implement complex workflows with AWS services such as Step Functions and Lambda.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CDK, Terraform, and Pulumi.
- Implement modern identity and access management patterns, including OIDC.
- Enhance CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
- Document systems, processes, and technical decisions accurately.
- Support incident response and operational improvements.
Requirements
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS development and production environments.
- Proficiency with Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, and EventBridge.
- Experience using AWS CDK, Terraform, or Pulumi for IaC.
- Familiarity with IAM roles and OpenID Connect for identity flows.
- Strong communication skills to articulate technical decisions and influence stakeholders.
- Ability to operate independently and make sound technical judgments.
- Experience with maintaining operational maturity and security compliance.
